Hi All,
Ive been bugging about this setup, I can't sleep and been thinking if this is possible.
In our production environment, we have HyperV 2012 cluster and each hosts has 8 NICs with 1GB each.
2 NICs - Host Management
2 NICs - Live Migration
2 NICs - Cluster/heartbeat
2 NICS - DMZ Trunk
We have 5 VMs here, all of them are using the DMZ Trunk. There's a plan now to remove the 2 VMs on the DMZ network and connect to production network.
Host Management is also connected to production network.
Since I dont have NICs for the VMs to use for production network and the only available is Host Management NICs.
1. Is it possible to use the Host Management Network?
2. If does, how should I do it? Is below step is correct?
a. Create a new external vSwitch and use the Host Management Network.
b. Check Allow management operating system to share this network adapter and assign production VLAN.
c. Modify the target VMs to use the new vSwith and change their IPs.
3. Technically is it possible the above steps?
Let me know your thoughts please?
